Michael Corbett – Novi Police Department

Former Officer Michael Corbett filed a lawsuit in 2013 alleging that the Novi Police Department enforced illegal ticket quotas to generate revenue. Corbett claimed he was required to make at least four traffic stops and issue a minimum of two tickets per shift. After voicing his concerns, he alleged he faced harassment, was denied promotions, and was ultimately forced into early retirement. The lawsuit accused the department of wrongful discharge and violating state laws prohibiting ticket quotas.
