Michael Kealty – Smyrna Police Department

In September 2023, Officer Michael Kealty was investigated by federal authorities for alleged crimes involving child pornography. Upon learning of the investigation, the Smyrna Police Department immediately suspended Kealty and removed his police powers. After formal charges were filed in October 2023, Kealty was terminated from the department. Chief Torrie M. James expressed deep disappointment and emphasized that Kealty’s actions did not reflect the department’s values.
