Michael Lowe – Vergennes Police Department

In January 2010, Chief Michael Lowe pleaded guilty to obtaining regulated drugs by fraud, DUI by drugs, and neglect of duty after becoming addicted to prescription opioids hydrocodone and oxycodone following a 2007 surgery. He funded his habit in part by selling a handgun seized by police after a suicide. Lowe was sentenced to six months in prison, plus probation.
