Michael Vaccaro – New Rochelle Police Department

In February 2021, while off-duty, Detective Michael Vaccaro was involved in an incident where he punched and kicked Malik Fogg, an unarmed Black man, during a confrontation that began at a gas station. This encounter was captured on video. Vaccaro was charged with attempted assault but was acquitted in July 2022. Despite the acquittal, he was dismissed from the New Rochelle Police Department in September 2023 following a disciplinary hearing that found his use of force unjustified.
