Michal Dinnsen – Indianapolis Police Department

In June 2017, Officer Michal Dinnsen was involved in the fatal shooting of Aaron Bailey, an unarmed Black motorist. After a traffic stop, Bailey fled and subsequently crashed his vehicle. Dinnsen and another officer, Carlton Howard, approached and fired at Bailey, who was later found to have been shot four times in the back. A special prosecutor declined to file criminal charges, but in October 2017, Police Chief Bryan Roach recommended Dinnsen’s termination for failing to adhere to department training and policy during the incident.
