Nigel Golding – Milford Police Department

Officer Golding was involved in the fatal shooting of Brandon Roberts on January 5, 2020. Roberts, who was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis, was shot after allegedly advancing towards officers with a knife. A wrongful death lawsuit filed by Roberts’ family accused Officer Golding of using unreasonable deadly force and violating Roberts’ rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act. In August 2020, the state attorney general’s office cleared Officer Golding of criminal wrongdoing, stating the use of deadly force was justified. As of February 2022, Officer Golding remained employed with the department.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
