In January 2019, Officer Adams confiscated and destroyed an inmate’s rune paper, which the inmate claimed was related to his Asatru religion. The inmate alleged this action violated his rights to due process and free exercise of religion. The court found that the officer’s actions did not constitute a violation of clearly established constitutional rights, and the case was dismissed.
