In April 2003, Sheriff’s Officer Alicia Schular filed a lawsuit against the county, sheriff’s office, and Sheriff Robert Untig for sexual harassment. Schular claimed she was harassed multiple times and faced retaliation after ending a relationship with Capt. Raymond Feeney and beginning one with Lt. Edward Nemeth. Her attorney stated that the internal affairs probe conducted by the sheriff’s office was a cover-up, with many witnesses not questioned and testimonies mischaracterized.
