In 2018, Officer Black was accused of sexually assaulting a female inmate on two separate occasions while she was sleeping in her cell. The victim filed a $20 million lawsuit in 2024, alleging that the officer entered her cell without consent and committed acts of sexual abuse. The lawsuit also claims that the sheriff’s office failed to address a history of widespread sexual abuse of female inmates.
