Officer Brown – Oxford Police Department

In September 2018, Officer Brown responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident. Despite multiple officers already on scene, he continued at high speeds, reaching up to 92 mph in residential areas. Approaching an intersection at 58 mph, he slowed to 45 mph but ran a red light, colliding with Patricia Phillips’ vehicle at 46 mph. Both Phillips and her child were injured and taken to the hospital. The Oxford Police Department disciplined Officer Brown for safety and policy violations, noting his actions put himself and the public at risk. A lawsuit ensued, with the court finding overwhelming evidence of reckless disregard for public safety.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
