In June 2020, Officer Hunter Bradley arrested a mother at her home while her child was seriously injured, preventing her from accompanying her child to the emergency room. The mother reported that Officer Bradley used excessive force during the arrest, including applying overly tight handcuffs and a stomach chain, causing her difficulty in breathing. This incident led to a public petition calling for his termination due to alleged abuse of power and multiple issues with citizens in Spearfish and Lawrence County.
