Officer Jeff Bonar – Flagstaff Police Department

In November 2016, Officer Jeff Bonar was captured on video punching a woman in the face during an arrest. The Flagstaff Police Department found that Bonar violated policies on unreasonable and excessive force and for failing to activate his body camera. Following a disciplinary board’s recommendation for termination, Bonar resigned from the department. The incident was widely publicized, leading to public outcry and scrutiny of the department’s use-of-force policies.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
