Written by In August 2016, Officer Joshua Perrott was involved in the arrest of a 17-year-old Black teenager during a response to a house party. Perrott turned off his body-worn camera during the incident, an apparent violation of department policy. Along with Officer Troy Raines, Perrott assisted in throwing the teen to the ground and handcuffing him after the teen complied with orders to remove his hands from his pockets. An internal audit in 2020 found that officers frequently stopped recording during public interactions without stating reasons, as required by policy.
