Written by In 2020, Officer Justin Mowery illegally purchased steroids, violating department policies and state laws. Additionally, in 2016, he falsely reported to law enforcement and his insurance company that he accidentally crashed his father’s car, when in fact he had intentionally driven the vehicle into a tree. These actions led to the revocation of his law enforcement certification by the South Dakota Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training Commission in November 2021.
