Officer Shawn Lucas Lister – Loxley Police Department

In May 2020, Officer Lister arrested Randolph Clay Cooper for criminal trespass and attempting to elude law enforcement. Cooper alleged that Lister and other officers violated his Fourth Amendment rights during the arrest. The case, Cooper v. Lister et al, was dismissed with prejudice in January 2023, granting summary judgment in favor of the defendants. The court found that the officers had probable cause for the arrest and were entitled to qualified immunity. No disciplinary actions were taken against Officer Lister as a result of this incident.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
