Patrick Bonito – Marietta Police Department

In January 2023, Major Patrick Bonito was disciplined after an internal investigation revealed he had used a derogatory racial term approximately 10 years prior. The investigation began when two officers filed complaints alleging racially insensitive behavior. Bonito admitted to using the term in the past, though not directed at any employee. As a result, he was transferred to a different shift, removed from leadership positions, suspended for 40 hours without pay, and required to attend training classes related to the findings.
