Former Police Chief Randy Scott resigned in 2013 amid allegations of misconduct, including claims of a romantic relationship with a subordinate and placing a city-owned GPS tracking device on her personal vehicle. In 2018, Scott was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and breach of trust after a fugitive investigation led authorities to his residence, where drugs and unreturned service weapons were found. These incidents have cast a long-standing cloud over his tenure and character.
