Richard L. Lewis – Springfield Police Department

Former Police Chief Richard L. Lewis was placed on administrative leave in March 2021 and retired in June 2021 amid an investigation into complaints that he falsified a document to protect two supervisors involved in misconduct. The state Department of Public Safety Standards and Training forwarded the complaints to Springfield’s city manager for review and resolution.
