Richard Ramirez – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office

Former Sergeant Richard Ramirez was convicted in May 2021 of multiple domestic violence-related crimes against three victims, including his girlfriend from 2011 to 2018. The victims reported repeated assaults, stalking, intimidation, and abuse. Despite multiple reports to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, the department allegedly ignored or was indifferent to the victims’ complaints. A federal civil rights lawsuit was filed against Ramirez and the department, alleging mishandling of internal investigations and failure to take disciplinary action. Ramirez was sentenced to over six years in prison in June 2021. ([abc30.com](https://abc30.com/richard-ramirez-tulare-county-sheriff-sergeant-domestic-violence/10705067/?utm_source=openai))

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
