Rick Hetherington – Flint Police Department

Sergeant Rick Hetherington was fired in 2008 for speaking to a local television station about allegations of political harassment within the police agency, violating a gag order imposed by Chief David Dicks. The ACLU filed a federal lawsuit on his behalf, seeking to overturn the ban and recover lost wages. Hetherington was reinstated shortly after the lawsuit was filed.
