In January 2024, retired Sgt. Robert Pronovost was charged with DUI after being involved in an incident where he and Lt. Joseph Ficacelli switched seats during a traffic stop to evade detection. Pronovost feigned injury to avoid a sobriety test. He was charged with operating under the influence by state police.
