Robert Valentine – Harrison County Sheriff’s Department

In 2019, former transport deputy Robert Valentine was accused of sexually assaulting a female inmate during a transport from the Linda Woodman State Jail to the Harrison County Jail. The lawsuit alleged that Valentine stopped at a gas station without surveillance cameras, followed the inmate into the restroom, and raped her while she was shackled. Valentine resigned from his position following the allegations. A civil rights lawsuit was filed against Valentine and Harrison County, resulting in a settlement in 2022.
