Robert Ward – Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office

In June 2019, Deputy Robert Ward was arrested at his home by Sherwood Police Department officers responding to a noise complaint. He faced charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. During the arrest, officers wrestled Ward to the ground, resulting in a concussion and nerve damage. An internal investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office found that Ward violated three codes of conduct, leading to his termination. Ward subsequently filed a lawsuit alleging malicious prosecution, unlawful search and seizure, excessive force, and retaliatory arrest, but the federal court dismissed the suit, ruling that the officers acted reasonably.
