Ryan Taylor – Skamania County Sheriff’s Office

In 2011, while serving at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor was found to have driven his patrol vehicle extensively for personal use, accumulating at least 8,000 unauthorized miles over two years. He also used his work cellphone for personal calls and conducted unauthorized computer checks on his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. These actions led to his termination from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Despite these issues, Taylor was hired by the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office in 2014, where Sheriff Dave Brown acknowledged the prior misconduct but chose to employ him, citing Taylor’s intelligence and the cost-effectiveness of hiring an experienced officer.
