Former Peachtree City Police Officer Samuel Smith was terminated in May 2014 after an internal investigation revealed multiple violations, including failure to comply with department procedures related to vehicle pursuits and emergency vehicle operations, running stop signs, improper turns, speeding, and failure to use emergency equipment. Over his 23-year tenure, Smith received 30 separate disciplinary actions. In 2012, he was suspended without pay and demoted from sergeant to corporal for similar violations.
