Scott Nelson – Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office

In August 2019, Deputy Scott Nelson was involved in the arrest of Kevin Byrd, who alleged that excessive force was used, resulting in a massive rotator cuff tear. Byrd filed a lawsuit against Nelson and other officers, claiming the injury required surgery and extensive therapy. The case was dismissed on procedural grounds, but the allegations of excessive force remain documented.
