Involved in a 2006 incident where he and Officer DeWese refused Officer Johnson’s repeated requests to use the lavatory over a period of twenty to thirty minutes, resulting in her urinating on herself. Warden Merline disciplined both Sergeant Gazzara and Officer DeWese for their roles in the incident.
