Sergeant J.J. Jefferson – Wake Forest Police Department

In February 2014, Sergeant J.J. Jefferson, along with Officer T.C. Webb, arrested Larry McLean based on an outdated Order for Arrest that was accompanied by a ‘Do Not Arrest’ order. Despite this, Jefferson transported McLean to the Wake County Detention Center, where McLean was detained for six days. McLean filed a lawsuit alleging violations of his constitutional rights and state law torts, including false imprisonment.
