In 2011, Sergeant Joel Dean allegedly harassed Deputy Debra Knowles by making comments of a sexual nature, such as asking if she found other women sexy and rubbing her earlobe. He also stood very close behind her while she was bent at the waist searching a car. Knowles filed an internal complaint reporting harassment and retaliation by Dean.
