In 2013, Sgt. Chris Ragazzo was terminated for unauthorized access to official databases, including searches on Sheriff Jim Manfre and individuals linked to his ex-wife. An arbitrator later ruled the termination lacked due process, ordering his reinstatement with nine months’ back pay. The Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission found no probable cause for disciplinary action against him.
