Sgt. Jones – Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office

In June 2023, Sgt. Jones was involved in a DUI investigation of a public official, King Cutter. The South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Corporal Datrick Prince alleged that the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office had a vendetta against Cutter and was pushing the Highway Patrol to charge him. Sheriff Tim Baxley defended his deputies’ actions, stating that they followed standard policy by deferring the investigation to the Highway Patrol and maintained professional demeanor during the incident.
