Deputy Bacich was suspended for five days in 2016 after making racially inflammatory remarks to Black individuals while off duty and intoxicated at a Walgreens. He was also suspended for passing a counterfeit bill at a bar. In 2020, Bacich mishandled a hit-and-run investigation, failing to follow up with key witnesses and neglecting to place video evidence into the record, leading to another suspension. Despite these incidents, he was not placed on the Brady list.
