In 1999, Sheriff John Raichl terminated Jail Commander Brunick after union members expressed no confidence in Brunick’s leadership. Raichl cited multiple deficiencies, including failure to update jail policies, untimely evaluations of subordinates, manipulation of official documents, harassment of a subordinate, and unprofessional conduct.
