Sheriff Mike Morrison, a former member of Grace City Church, was named in a 2023 lawsuit by former Deputy Aaron Shepard alleging religious discrimination and harassment. The lawsuit claimed that Morrison, along with other department staff, encouraged Shepard to join the church and that Shepard faced retaliation after leaving the church in 2016. The lawsuit was settled in 2024 for $250,000.
