Sheriff Partin – Coffee County Sheriff’s Office

On May 24, 2019, Sheriff Partin was involved in an incident where he allegedly failed to provide medical attention to Wesley Pryor after an alleged use of excessive force by his deputies. Partin reportedly told Pryor that because he was not in custody, the police were not required to give him medical treatment and warned him to forget the incident ever took place. The incident led to a lawsuit alleging failure to provide medical care and failure to intervene. The court denied summary judgment for Partin on the failure to provide medical care claim, allowing the case to proceed to trial.
