Steven Chad Wix – Laurens County Sheriff’s Office

In April 2022, while employed as a detention center officer, Wix initiated two physical altercations with an inmate. In the first incident, he repeatedly struck the inmate with a closed fist. Both incidents were captured on body-worn cameras. Wix was arrested in September 2022 and charged with third-degree assault and battery and misconduct in office.
