During the encounter, Hochstetler alleged that the officers became aggressive, knocked him to the ground, used a Taser on him multiple times, and ultimately shot him at point-blank range without sufficient provocation, causing life-threatening injuries. Hochstetler filed a civil rights lawsuit against Officer Wilson, the City of Hendersonville, and the Hendersonville Police Department.
