Terri Van Dam – Guernsey Police Department

Former Chief of Police Terri Van Dam was terminated on January 15, 2020, after reporting alleged misconduct involving town officials and employees to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the FBI. She filed a lawsuit claiming her termination was in retaliation for her whistleblowing activities. In September 2021, a federal jury awarded her over $300,000 in damages, concluding that her reports were a motivating factor in her dismissal. The case was settled in August 2021. Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
