Terry Peck – Gary Police Department

In March 2019, Officer Terry Peck conducted a traffic stop during which he used excessive force by slamming the handcuffed driver’s face and head against a police vehicle, resulting in a broken tooth and bodily injury. Peck was indicted in October 2021 and pleaded guilty to deprivation of rights under color of law. In November 2022, he was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison, followed by one year of supervised release. Peck was also fired by the Gary Police Civil Service Commission in 2020 in connection with this incident.
