Thomas McDonald – Scranton Police Department

In June 2020, Officer Thomas McDonald was terminated after an internal investigation revealed he exchanged numerous racist text messages with fellow officer Bryanna Gifford, containing derogatory language towards Black, Hispanic, and Middle Eastern individuals. In June 2021, McDonald was charged with federal bribery violations for allegedly soliciting sexual favors from individuals in exchange for favorable treatment in his official capacity. Additionally, he faced multiple lawsuits alleging coercion of female informants into sexual acts and was charged with making terroristic threats against a fellow officer after his termination.
