Thomas Whitener – Ashland Police Department

Former Officer Whitener filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the City of Ashland in October 2023, alleging he was fired after accusing Chief Gabe Edwards of misconduct. Whitener claimed to have observed unlawful or unethical conduct by Edwards, including misuse of the Criminal Justice Information System and use of racial slurs. After reporting these concerns, Whitener was placed on administrative leave and subsequently terminated. He is seeking reinstatement, back wages, and compensation for damages.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
