Travis Turner – Lone Peak Police Department

In September 2008, Sergeant Travis Turner made a drunken phone call to his ex-wife, during which he threatened to kill Lehi Police Chief Chad Smith. The call was recorded and reported to authorities, leading to Turner’s administrative leave and subsequent termination in December 2008 for misconduct. The Utah Court of Appeals upheld his termination in June 2010, citing conduct unbecoming an officer and acts evidencing moral turpitude. Additionally, the Utah Police Officer Standards and Training Council suspended Turner’s certification for a year.

  • View the Blog: Read about documented police interactions
  • Share Your Experience: Submit your own police interaction story
  • Browse the Forums: Check if your local law enforcement has been documented

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
