Tyler Harrison – Holmes County Sheriff’s Office

In 2018, Lieutenant Tyler Harrison was involved in an incident where he discharged a firearm while intoxicated in his patrol vehicle, resulting in a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This occurred while he was on call, violating department policies against alcohol use while on duty and being armed. Additionally, Harrison was investigated for making misleading statements about a relationship with a coworker. He resigned following these events. In 2024, Harrison filed a lawsuit alleging constructive discharge due to his mental health issues, but the court granted summary judgment in favor of the Sheriff, citing his misconduct as the basis for his resignation.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
