Unnamed Officers – Northport Police Department

In 2014, officers from the Northport Police Department were involved in an incident where they allegedly used excessive force against Freshun Flowers Bey. The officers reportedly entered Bey’s home without a warrant, pulled him out, and wrestled him to the ground. Bey filed a lawsuit claiming violations of his Fourth Amendment rights. The court found that Bey had made an initial showing that the officers were in violation of his clearly established rights, allowing the case to proceed. Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
