An Alaska State Trooper was discharged for engaging in consensual sex with a domestic violence victim the morning after assisting in the arrest of her husband. The Public Safety Employees Association filed a grievance, and an arbitrator ordered the trooper’s reinstatement with back pay after a three-day suspension. The Alaska Supreme Court upheld the arbitration award in 2014.
