In February 2024, Deputy Vinroy Hylton was involved in the arrest of Christopher Connelly, who alleged excessive force was used during the incident. Body camera footage showed Connelly holding his hands up before attempting to flee, after which deputies, including Hylton, tackled and struck him. Connelly filed a federal civil rights lawsuit claiming he suffered a traumatic brain injury and other injuries affecting his ability to work.
