In March 2011, Deputy Wayne Davis Jr. was charged with aggravated domestic assault and unlawful mischief after allegedly choking his wife and throwing a soda can at her. Subsequent charges included obstruction of justice and violation of conditions of release for allegedly contacting his wife in violation of an abuse prevention order. Davis pleaded not guilty to all charges and faced up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
