William Humphries – Fair Haven Police Department

Between 2015 and 2020, Chief William Humphries issued parking tickets for speeding violations and inaccurately reported them as Vermont Civil Violation Complaints. This practice allowed him to impose lower fines associated with parking tickets while the paperwork indicated speeding tickets. As a result, the Fair Haven Police Department was removed from the Governor’s Highway Safety Program grant and placed on probation for six months in 2019.
