A 60-page report released in February 2022 detailed multiple instances of misconduct, including mishandling evidence, racial bias, alleged theft, and sharing confidential information with unauthorized individuals. The report also highlighted inappropriate text messages containing racist, sexist, and homophobic content. Due to these findings, the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office decided not to prosecute any future cases involving Ledger as a witness. Ledger resigned from the department on September 15, 2021.
